Track. Your. Performance.

  • Tracking Performance

    • Track all your bets. Pikkit is a fantastic service for this

      • Pikkit is an app that syncs all your sportsbooks and aggregates your betting into meaningful metrics you can evaluate yourself with. It will synthesize your bets in one location, track your bankroll by book, provide a database for mining insights on what markets, books, sports, etc you are doing well/poorly in, and otherwise organize your sports gambling portfolio

        • You can also tag your bets in Pikkit. This is helpful to track how each tout/service/+ev account performs

        • The tool is free!

      • If you don’t want to trust a site for this, there are cheat sheets out there for using Google Sheets, etc. You must make sure you are diligently and accurately tracking though, which is why I trust Pikkit for myself.

    • This is a critical component. If you are placing a large number of wagers, how do you know, ultimately, which ones are beneficial long-term, and which ones aren’t?

  • Getting Limited

    • “Getting Limited” is a concern to manage long-term. Initially, they will throw offers at you, but if you keep making good bets, eventually they will catch on and limit you.

      • There are ways to mitigate this. Don't stress it immediately, but be aware, and start learning what you can do about it early.

      • There is a twitter account focused on this very topic. It is part art, part science. Give @MrLiimited a follow on twitter for more information on how to not be limited

      • Again, don’t worry about this initially. Let yourself get limited somewhere before you start worrying about it. Fanatics, Hard Rock, BetRivers and ESPNBet will all be somewhat quick to limit, if one of them limits you, you are doing something right and it is time to figure out how to keep it from happening elsewhere.

If you’ve made it this far and you have maximized your sign-up bonuses, gotten the hang of taking advantage of promotional offers and gotten tired of arbitrage betting, then you have mastered level one and are ready for level two. Top-down betting. Rather than arbitrage bet, why not just take the side with the less efficient line? But that is a topic for another day, conquer level one and the path to level two will present itself when ready.

At the end of the day, Sports Gambling is a hobby that can be both fun and profitable. Without learning where the advantages are though, it can be a problem that costs a lot of money long term. Start slow, work on creating a bankroll. Don’t make bets just because, make them because you know you are getting an advantage. Remember, getting a bet at better than fair value is the name of the game.
